Devlog 3: How AI created Riva


//Editor's Note: This update was previously a stop gap between my video devlogs 3 and 4 and mostly concerned what I did in the six months I wasn't working on my game. Then I realised I never actually posted devlog 3 to Itch. So I've edited this entry to feature that video, which is all about how I made the character of Riva using several AI tools. 

AI tools bring both incredible opportunities but also ethical concerns to amateur game developers. In this devlog, I look at how I used AI tools like Adobe Firefly and ElevenLabs to create the character of Riva for my 2.5D sci-fi shooter, Scarlet Harvest. I also look at my first attempts at scripting in this engine, something I'm not very good at!
